The Saranac Lake Winter Carnival Committee is seeking support for its upcoming fundraiser, the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival Summer Gala. The Gala will be held at Harriettstown Town Hall at 39 Main Street on Friday, July 11 at 6:30-10:00p.m. Gala attendees will adorn elegant dress attire for a refined red carpet evening featuring dinner, open bar, dancing, live and silent auctions and a Bid & Bump Board.
The highlight of the event, the Bid & Bump Board, offers the opportunity to bid on seats for exclusive and unique events. The bidding elicits fast-paced action and excitement as bidders are bumped off by others that are willing to place a higher bid for a seat.
The committee is seeking events contributed by community members which could accommodate 5-12 participants for the Bid & Bump Board. Events could include themed dinner parties or BBQ’s, boat outings and other fun activities which would garner bids by Gala attendees. Also desired are items for the auctions which could include gift baskets, artwork or other specialty gifts. The committee will split gift basket profits 50/50 with the organization supplying the basket.
The success of the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival has always been due to the support and generosity received from the community which keeps this time-honored tradition alive. The Gala will be an important fundraiser with proceeds benefitting the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival Committee in support of the 10-days of community events planned for the Winter Carnival on February 6 – 15, 2015.
For more information please contact email@example.com or call 518-586-1063. The cost to attend the Gala is $75 per person (21 and over). Please RSVP by June 24 and make checks payable to the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival and mail to the attention of Gail Brill at 46 Fawn Street, Saranac Lake, NY 12983.
The Saranac Lake Winter Carnival Committee, formally known as the Society for Promotion of Winter Carnival, Saranac Lake, Inc., is a group of volunteers dedicated to organizing an annual mid-winter festival. This 10-day, communitywide event traces its roots to a one-day Winter Carnival held in 1897 by the Pontiac Club. The Carnival honors its heritage every year by building an Ice Palace from blocks of ice harvested from Lake Flower’s Pontiac Bay, where carnival events have been traditionally held for generations.
