Archbishop Paul Leahy

Paul Leahy was born and raised in Saranac Lake. He is a 1976 graduate of Saranac Lake High School and is a 1981 graduate of Norwich University where he received a B.S. in Physical Education. Paul received his Master’s Degree in Education/Administration from St. Lawrence University in 1983. In November 2005, Paul was inducted in Norwich University’s Athletic Hall of Fame as a member of the 1979-1980 football team. He is employed by the Saranac Lake Central School District and has been an administrator for the past seventeen years. Although he enjoys all the Adirondack seasons, winter is truly his favorite time. Paul is one of the founders and President of the Saranac Lake Area Youth Program established in April 2000. Paul enjoys promoting our area’s youth. He sees them as our most valuable resource. He feels it is important for our young people to see what a community can offer. Winter Carnival is a big part of the Saranac Lake community bringing people together for good times and outdoor activities. Our youth are essential for these traditions to continue. Paul is married to Eileen, his “bride” of 25 years. They are the parents of Tabatha and Craig. This is Paul’s third time around on the Winter Carnival Court. He was a page in 1967 and a member of the 1975 high school court. Paul is truly honored to have been chosen by the students and looks forward to the week ahead.
