Chamberlain Chris Gosling

Chris Gosling, son of Rich Gosling and Hannah Anderson and sibling to Dave, grew up in a small Tennessee town called Sewanee. He graduated from St. Andrew’s-Sewanee High School in 1998 and attended Cornell University where he majored in civil and environmental engineering. While there he met his wife Lynn, who grew up in Saranac Lake. He graduated from Cornell as a Merrill Presidential Scholar in 2002 and moved to Montana where he worked as a structural engineer. After relocating to western NY, Chris earned his Master’s Degree in Science Education from Buffalo State College and won an award for his master’s thesis on gender differences in physics learners. Chris taught physics at Paul Smith’s College before coming to Saranac Lake High School, where he has taught physics for the past three and a half years. In addition to teaching, Chris is active outside of school. In the summer he can be found mountain biking or rock climbing, and in the winter he enjoys cross-country skiing, snowboarding, and ice climbing. Chris was flattered to be nominated by this year’s Carnival Court and is proud to call Saranac Lake his home. He wishes everyone a happy Winter Carnival!
