Saranac Lake, NY – The Saranac Lake Winter Carnival Committee chose Melinda Little as its 2019 Grand Marshal for the Gala Parade on February 9. Melinda has been an important part of the community for many years.

Saranac Lake, NY – "Doonesbury" cartoonist Garry Trudeau has released his button design for the 2019 Saranac Lake Winter Carnival. Using the Winter Carnival's designated theme "Prehistoric Park," Trudeau's illustration shows "Doonesbury" character Zonker riding a mammoth while facing a saber-toothed cat. Trudeau, who was raised in Saranac Lake, has created the Winter Carnival button design since 1981 to benefit the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival.
