Sun Catchers are simple to make from things in your own kitchen. Allowing for creativity, anything can be added to individualize your entry. We ask that items used are not something to become trash as they melt. (ie. no Rubik's Cubes, paper, plastics, etc.) It is an easy process of making a large colorful ice cube in a cake pan. Sun Catcher themes can be creating colorful lines in ice with food coloring, a theme such as nature, Uniquely Saranac Lake, etc. A size limit of 12", round or square, is necessary due to considering weight for hanging. All entries will receive a number and zip ties will be provided for hanging.
Register your entry in advance using this form that can be dropped off at the Winter Carnival History Hut next to the Ice Palace or emailed to info@saranaclakewintercarnival.com.
Deliver your Sun Catcher to the area to the NYS Boat Launch (right of the Ice Palace) on February 2, 2023 between the hours of 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM or 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM.
Please register at least a week in advance so we can prepare enough space for hanging all entries.
